Azerbaijan (i/ˌæzərbaɪˈdʒɑːn/AZ-ər-by-JAHN; Azerbaijani:Azərbaycan[ɑzærbɑjdʒɑn]), officially the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani:Azərbaycan Respublikası), is a transcontinental country in the Caucasus region, situated at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
